Area Committees

Area Committees provide a forum for citizens to raise issues affecting the area, make decisions on local matters and decide allocations Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) funding.
There are three Area Committees in Barnet:
Submit an issue
Area Committees provide an opportunity for citizens to raise matters affecting the local area (except in relation to licensing and planning applications).
Issues must be received by the Governance Service by 10am on the 10th working day before the meeting. Written responses to local matters will be provided five days before the meeting.
Citizens can attend the Area Committee to speak on the issue raised.
Area Committee Funding
Each Area Committee has an annual budget to spend on infrastructure projects within their area. Budget allocations are based on the population in each area.
Ward Councillors can submit applications to Area Committees on behalf of their communities.
