The foundation of FMI's work is a focus on the family as a core foundation of society. We work to combine high quality empirical evidence with the charities christian-basis to support, improve & sustain healthy families: activity is currently focused on fatherhood, parenting, mental health & emotional wellbeing, marriage & couple relationships including family breakdown. Our offices are situated just north of London in the beautiful Moggerhanger Park, Grade 1 listed former home of the Thornton family. The Thornton's were governors of the bank of England and cousins of William Wilberforce, being social reformers and famous for the abolition of the slave trade act in 1807. The house itself was built by Sir John Soane, whose other works include the Bank of England and parts of Downing Street. Therefore Moggerhanger Park has a legacy combining social change with tranquillity & architectural beauty, the ideal home for a charity that seeks to be a practical thought leader in societal change. We have gained an excellent reputation for training, innovative services and research work; which we hope this site will provide you with some insight to. As always with websites they can so easily and very quickly be out of date, so if you can't find what you are looking for but are sure you heard our name mentioned in association with your particular area of interest please contact us.
