About the Regeneration Team
We are responsible for delivering growth and regeneration to meet the needs of people and places across the borough.
Our role is ensuring the maximum benefit of growth and regeneration to the residents of Barnet by:
- shaping changes to places to secure healthy, resilient and cohesive communities
- ensuring sustainable development meets local needs, particularly by achieving housing needs
- promoting economic investment
- delivering infrastructure to address the needs of a changing population
The Regeneration programme encompasses our Growth Areas in the west of the borough in Brent Cross, Colindale and Mill Hill East, Priority Regeneration Estates at Grahame Park. Dollis Valley and West Hendon, and Infill Regeneration Estates and Sites at Granville Road and Upper and Lower Fosters.
We are also responsible for managing the Council’s excess land and buildings across the borough which could be used to provide more housing, building mixed-used housing to maximise the use of existing land assets, increase the supply of housing and expand the range of choices that meet the needs and aspirations of Barnet residents.
